Welcome to Splashers Grill, a culinary gem nestled in the heart of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. Located at 75-5663 Palani Rd, this vibrant eatery offers an inviting atmosphere for both locals and visitors alike. As a true food reviewer, I can't help but become enamored with a restaurant that champions not only delicious food but also a sense of community and island spirit.

Splashers Grill is famed for its extraordinary selection of burgers, each crafted with love and bursting with flavor. Among the star players on the menu is the BBQ Bacon Cheese Burger. Picture this: a juicy patty crowned with three strips of crisp bacon, smothered in cheddar cheese, and topped with onion rings and a drizzle of BBQ sauce. At just US$15.00, it’s more than a meal; it's an experience that balances savory and sweet with each hearty bite.

If variety is what you seek, delve into the Sweet & Sassy Burger, adorned with island-fresh pineapple and teriyaki sauce, or indulge in “The Works Burger,” laden with grilled onions, mushrooms, and creamy avocados—both for just US$14.00 and US$16.00 respectively. These offerings not only showcase local flavors but also represent the playful, yet sophisticated, culinary spirit of Hawaii.

As for appetizers, the culinary adventure at Splashers Grill only deepens. The Coconut Prawns are a must-try—six large tiger prawns enveloped in a coconuty embrace and served with a tangy pineapple marmalade that dances on your palate. At US$15.00, it serves as the perfect precursor to your main course. The Dungeness Crab Cakes are equally delightful—crispy on the outside and tender within, accompanied by a zesty chipotle aioli that amplifies the flavors beautifully.

Splashers Grill also understands the charm of inviting, hearty sandwiches. From the savory Hearty Dip, featuring sliced roast beef and melted Swiss, to the Avocado Chick Melt, where grilled chicken meets fresh avocado on toasted sourdough, each bite rejoices in the perfect marriage of textures and tastes.

With an ambience that mirrors the tropical beauty of Kailua-Kona and a menu that promises to tantalize your taste buds, Splashers Grill is not just a place to eat; it’s a celebration of culinary artistry rooted in local tradition. Two words. Calamari strips. So tender. So delicious. Friendly staff. Nice location. Good beers. Fish was great and crab cakes actually contain crab (you know how many do not.. ). They SHOULD warm guests about the parking. They have free parking and if their lot is full there's an arrangement with the hotel for overflow. We got stuck paying the next lot over a fortune. Avoid that. About 10$ an hour. Ugh. Will go back :-)

We went for breakfast, and the food was great! We got seated quickly, and our server was pretty nice and stopped by often to ask if we needed anything. They give you a lot of food as well, and it comes rather quickly.

A really nice restaurant, with friendly staff and a good happy hour menu. The burgers are huge and priced very well. At this restaurant, keep it to traditional bar food and you won't be disappointed. There are separate breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, so I cannot speak to them all. It is in central Kona and has pretty good views of the water.

The first thing my wife complain is that it is not handicap friendly. Those of you can't climb stairs, forget about this place. Like everyone else comments, the servers are friendly. I give it a four stars given the location, food, service and ambience. Food wise: BBQ Ribs and Chicken The BBQ ribs are quite tender and fall off the bones easily which I like. I have to admit the BBQ sauce is a bit too overwhelming and sweet for me and the chicken a bit too dry and tough. I gave up eating the chicken after chewing and chewing each bite. Those who have weak teeth, beware! Grilled Chicken: My wife said, "It is okay. Don't trust the reviews you read when it said five stars, it is not true." Each person have their own personal preference. I took a piece of her chicken, I find it a bit bland and not to my taste. Her piece of chicken is slightly more tender. White Chocolate Lilikoi Cheesecake with Macadamia Nut Crust: Pleasing to the eyes and taste quite delicious. The combination of chocolate, macadamia nuts and cheese cake is pretty good. It is good with coffee.
